IFAF is a program initiated to make fashion and art products from Indonesia penetrate the international world. Later, IFAF will show the works of Indonesian fashion designers who passed the curation to be present at New York Indonesia Fashion Week 2023.

This program was also created to uplift Indonesian culture through art and cultural activities that combine with a series of other activities.

In addition, this program was also created with the hope that it can open the horizons of Indonesian designers to be more enthusiastic about showing their work not only domestically.

“So just motivate your friends, go there more,” said IFAF founder Lina Marlina during a weekly press conference (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Monday, February 6, 2023.

This event was also created to open the horizons of Indonesian designers. This is to increase potential, add connections, experiences, and be more collaborative and varied in making the design.

After returning to Indonesia, designers are expected to have more confidence. Business planning, product promotion and other marketing details are also getting better.

“Usually when we have displayed our products abroad, whether we want it or not, when we go home, it turns out that the market in Indonesia is seeing, so going home is more trusted, the work is also God willing, the more extraordinary, the better,” said Lina Ruzhan, wife of the Deputy Governor of West Java.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of IFAF, Hanny Lovely said that this activity has a target of bringing many designers to the international scene through the New York Indonesia Fashion Week event, and the upcoming one at Milan Fashion Week.

The implementation of New York Indonesia Fashion Week 2023 is also supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. This event is planned to be held on February 11, 2023 on a cruise ship.

One of the fashion products that will be displayed is the work of young designer Yumna Siba. Yumna designed a fashion product for bikers, namely jackets whose material is made of Garut sheepskin and combined with mega cloudy batik with laser motif details.

“So there Yumna will lift Megamendung from Cirebon, so that it will be known in New York,” he said.
