Products by 7 fashion designers from West Java to be Showcased in New York 

A total of 14 Indonesian fashion designers, including 7 from West Java, are preparing to fly to New York, USA, to present their products at an event on the sidelines of New York Fashion Week. 2023.

At the event called New York Fashion  Indonesia Fashion Week (NYIFW) with Indonesian Fashion and Art  Festival (IFAF) 2023, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno highly appreciated the IFAF in collaboration with NYIFW to show the fashion designer’s work will take place on February 11, 2023.

New York Fashion Week Indonesia 2023 will be held on Cruise Ship Pier 36 with various guests ranging from New York’s KJRI characters, some diplomats from friendly countries to enthusiasts fashion. There are more than 120 fashion products on display.

With the experience of displaying international products, Sandi hopes that designers can be more creative, competitive, and confident to export their fashion products. The Indonesian fashion designers that will be participating are Lady Dahlia, Hanny Lovelly, Bens Zuebarca, Defrico Audy, Yumna Shiba, Anggodo, Eva Yasul and Dewi x Malik Moestaram.

There are also Rudi Sularso (Bagus Butik Indonesia), Faisal Fatich (Bagus Butik Indonesia), Fenta House by Feny Ardian, Decantique by Ning Santoso, Layka by Fitri and Ansania Premium x Kantiss.

Fashion designers have the opportunity to build a brand image
IFAF founder, Lina Marlina Ruzhan, and wife of the Deputy Governor of West Java Law, Ruzhanul Ulum, revealed that in addition to being facilitated for fashion shows, designers also have the ability to be known through small shows and opening galleries in the city. by Delaware on February 13, 2023 so creators can register to sell their products there.

Lina hopes that this activity will continue not only in New York, then similar events in Milan, Amsterdam, Paris and London. With the experience of appearing overseas, Lina continued, the market will bring even more value to a fashion brand. Because when appearing in international events, the value of the product also increases.

“What is certain is that when we have displayed our products abroad, necessarily when we return to Indonesia, the market will see it. The more you believe in that, the better the healing,” he said.

According to Lina, the goal of IFAF is a form of motivational microeconomics. Especially in the areas of the creative economy, fashion and the arts can grow and improve.

Kemenparekraf Director of Food, Crafts, Design and Fashion Yuke Sri Rahayu said that IFAF and NYIFW initiated the activity. To display the work of Indonesian fashion designers who have been successfully selected to appear at New York Fashion Week Indonesia 2023. When asked about the goal, IFAF committee chair Hanny Lovely said it was not great. He wants only local fashion designers to perform on the international stage.

One of the Indonesian fashion designers from West Java Yumna, under the brand Yumna Shiba, admits that he is happy as a young designer to be able to exhibit his work at NYIFW 2023.

One of the fashions he will be showcasing is Sukaregang Garut’s signature leather motorcycle jacket, themed around Cirebon’s signature Mega Mendung batik design.
