Products by 7 fashion designers from West Java to be Showcased in New York 

A total of 14 Indonesian fashion designers, including 7 from West Java, are preparing to fly to New York, USA, to present their products at an event on the sidelines of New York Fashion Week. 2023.

At the event called New York Fashion  Indonesia Fashion Week (NYIFW) with Indonesian Fashion and Art  Festival (IFAF) 2023, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno highly appreciated the IFAF in collaboration with NYIFW to show the fashion designer’s work will take place on February 11, 2023.

New York Fashion Week Indonesia 2023 will be held on Cruise Ship Pier 36 with various guests ranging from New York’s KJRI characters, some diplomats from friendly countries to enthusiasts fashion. There are more than 120 fashion products on display.

With the experience of displaying international products, Sandi hopes that designers can be more creative, competitive, and confident to export their fashion products. The Indonesian fashion designers that will be participating are Lady Dahlia, Hanny Lovelly, Bens Zuebarca, Defrico Audy, Yumna Shiba, Anggodo, Eva Yasul and Dewi x Malik Moestaram.

Young Indonesian Designers Bring Garut Leather Jackets to New York Indonesia Fashion Week

Taking advantage of the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) 2023, a number of Indonesian designers will show off their creations at the New York Indonesia Fashion Week (NYIFW) side event. One of them is Yumna Shiba.

The young 18-year-old designer will be showcasing his collection called the Bikers Collection. A total of 12 looks using monochrome colors, namely black, gray, white, and brown, will be shown in the show that takes place on the cruise ship on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

He admitted that working on the collection was quite lightning because the time he had was only two months. He is grateful to be able to complete the entire collection that carries the concept of masculine casual.

“But, the collection will be six for men and six for women,” he said.

Yumna became the youngest designer in the troupe brought by the Indonesia Fashion and Art Festival (IFAF). She only completed her education at the Islamic Fashion Institute Bandung after graduating from junior high school, as well as becoming the youngest graduate on campus last year.

“Now immediately focus on work, but if there is an offer of S2 study abroad, God willing, you want to follow,” said Yumna.

Yuke also said he would coordinate with the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Industry to bring Indonesian designers to the stage of official fashion weeks in various countries. “We’re going to try to collaborate,” Yuke said.

Citing Vogue, this year’s New York fashion week will highlight designer Raul Lopez’s Outer label after winning this year’s accessory designer title in America. She will present the closing show of fashion week on the last day and continue by staging pop ups at the Faurschou Gallery in New York from February 15–17, 2023.

Previously, the local modest brand Indonesia again penetrated the curation at the international fashion week. Zeta Prive will perform at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) 2023 on February 10–15, 2023.

Indonesian Fashion Products to be Showcased on a Cruise Ship

Parekraf and IFAF support the New York Indonesia Fashion Week program.

Dream – Indonesian fashion products as well as the work of Indonesian designers, it takes a lot of support from all parties to penetrate the global market. One of them is conducted by the Indonesia Fashion and Art Festival (IFAF).

One of the fashion products that will be displayed is the work of young designer Yumna Siba. Yumna designed a fashion product for bikers, namely jackets whose material is made of Garut sheepskin and combined with mega cloudy batik with laser motif details.

“So there Yumna will lift Megamendung from Cirebon, so that it will be known in New York,” he said.
